CHAIRPERSON
Khoza is a former student activist and member of the Congress of South African Students (COSAS). It was during this period that he ended up in detention under state security laws. He participated in the hunger strike that led to mass releases in the late 198's. He was active in the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL), the African National Congress (ANC) in Alexandra. He was part of the team tasked with finding peace during the violent turbulence of the early 199's. He participated in community defense structures.
Before 1994 he trained as a journalist, received diplomatic training in Tanzania and security science in Egypt. He worked as a communications officer at the Congress Of South Africa Trade Unions (Cosatu) before joining the government in the North West in the Premier’s Office as head of the office, later as the spokesperson of the Premier and ultimately the Advisor to the Premier, and later worked in a similar role in Gauteng.
He was admitted as an intern in the New York City Council and did leadership training at the Wharton School of business. He was later admitted as a student at Liverpool University where he completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Management as well as master’s Programme in Public Administration.
Following his service in government where he served as Deputy Director-General, CEO of Gauteng Economic Development Agency (GEDA) and CEO Gauteng Liquor Board, Khoza served on the Boards of Gauteng Enterprise Propeller, GEDA and Gauteng Film Commission (GFC).
He joined the ANC as the national manager of communications and spokesperson before re-joining the Gauteng government as the DDG.
He is currently the Advisor and the Head of Office of the ANC Treasurer General of the ANC.
