Kukama is a Professional Registered Quantity Surveyor and Professional Registered Construction Project Manager with extensive experience in all aspects of project and contracts management. She has worked in the construction industry for over 23 years. She is also a professional member of the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors (ASAQS).

She holds a BSC Honours in Quantity Surveying from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and a B. Comm Honours in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management, also from UCT.  She started her career as a quantity surveyor at Mcintosh Latillia Carrier & Laing QS in 1995.
